This morning Citizens Fire Co. was dispatched to respond to an odor investigation at 89 S. Main Str. in the borough. Upon Engine 454 and Chief 455 arrival a smoke condition was noted in the basement of the church at this address. Chief 455 requested that the first alarm be dispatched bring the entire MCFD along with Frackville Ladder 4320 and Altamont Engine 367 for the RIT team. Engine 454 staged on Side A of the structure and the tower had Side C. After investigating the cause was found to be a malfunctioning coal stove. The building was ventilated and all units were placed available. Units were on scene for almost two hours.
